Air conditioning Cleaning Process


An air conditioning system has two main components: Condenser and Evaporator coils. Usually made of copper tubes with aluminium fins.

The Evaporator

The evaporator coil Or indoor coil, is often described as the “Cold coil” because it provides indoor cooling by the blower inside of the furnace.

The Condenser Coil

The condenser coil, or outdoor coil is the “warm coil” as it rejects the heat as a fan bows outside air over the surface

Equipment Failure

As the air moving contains dust, dirt, pollen, moisture, grease, and other contaminants, the coils and fins get clogged, blocking air flow through the coils and interfere with the heat exchange. This causes the system to work harder and makes the system less efficient. Dirty coils increase operating pressure and temperatures that breakdown the compressor’s lubricant and can result in equipment failure. A failed compressor means no cooling and costly repair.

Prevent Deterioration

A coil cleaning program should be instituted when the coils are new, cleaning should be performed whit a frequency to prevent deterioration of the system

Cleaning Process

Depending on how dirt the system is. There are different cleaning process
Compressed Air

If the coil is contaminated with a light dust or dirt not adhered to the fins, blowing low pressure compressed air across the fins may be sufficient

Special Coil Degreaser

In most of the cases, Applying an special coil degreaser and wash off the cleaner and dirt with water is sufficient

Pressure Washers

For more aggressive deposits, Stronger cleaning solutions or solvents is used, combined with pressure washers to remove the chemicals and dirt
